Using Toast Titanium11.0.4, I followed your procedure, but did not see a dialogue asking if I wanted to convert the video format -Toast immediately started writing. After that it will transcode the video for a new DVD. Toast will ask if you really want to convert the video's format. If you choose Save as Disc Image you can burn that to DVD using the Image File setting in the Copy window. When done either choose Save as Disc Image (my preference) or click the Burn Button.
